So you want to be baptised
WhoHey, that is awesome! We love "dunking people!"
But this page could be more accurately be titled, "So You Want to Become a Christian." That's because water baptism is the outward sign/public declaration/visible demonstration of your decision to accept Christ as your personal Savior.
If you have already made that decision and want to make it public by water baptism, by all means, let us know!
Otherwise, don't put the cart before the horse! Give your life to the Lord, first. Then we'll "seal the deal" with baptism, even if it's on the same day, and at the same time! Nothing is as beautiful as "spontaneous baptism accompanying salvation!"
Baptism symbolizes three things:
1. A spiritual rebirth (think of the water as a "womb" and you are being reborn spiritually!)
2. A resurrection (think of the water as a grave; you are being raised from spiritual death to eternal life!)
3. Being born into a new/spiritual family (when people get baptized and stop coming to church, they've missed the point!)
Here is a video of one of our baptism services (please pardon our audio difficulties. What you don't hear in this video is the loud cheering and clapping as each person comes out of the water! It's a joyous celebration, a grand "delivery room," concluding with food, cake and a baptism certificate!)
